Shenzhen Stock Exchange
The Shenzhen Stock Exchange is one of the stock exchanges in mainland China. This exchange is regulated by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). Founded in 1990, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange has grown into the third largest stock exchange in China, after the Hong Kong Stock Market and the Shanghai Stock Market. The main principle of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange is to provide "Regulation, Innovation, Cultivation and Service." The Shenzhen Stock Exchange has approximately 540 companies listed. The market is comprised of over 35 million registered investors and over 170 exchange members. The market capitalisation of all of the listed companies in the Shenzhen Stock Exchange is an estimated RMB 1 trillion.
The Small and Medium Enterprise Board (SME Board), is focused at expanding the growth of small and mid capital enterprises. At the same time, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange is also committed to strengthening their tier market. There are three regulatory functions that Shenzen Stock Market is responsible for. First of all, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange closely monitors listed companies and require companies to provide quarterly reports with information that may affect the market. Second, the Shenzen Stock Market provides real-time market surveillance. Third, the Shenzhen Stock Exchange supervises their exchange members and categorise them in terms of financial health, compliance and capital.
