Taking on the right advice
Wednesday August 20, 2008
While choosing a stock broker who can give you experienced advice is a good idea, it is also important that you learn more about stock markets yourself. Following the advice of a professional will often be a wise course of action, but there will always be times when you are doubtful, and knowledge will help you to discern when that is warranted.
If your stock brokers are telling you to go one way and you disagree but have no reason to, then you are very clearly making a decision based on blind opinion rather than sound business logic. The decision for what you wish to invest in on stock markets is ultimately yours, so if you decide to go against advice you will want to do so only on good reasoning. Knowledge will also help you to realise when you are just letting a gut feeling cloud your view.
Whether you are investing in shares or CFDs, whether you trade on the Australian Stock Market ASX or in other stock markets such as the Shenzhen stock market, knowledge is a necessity. You will need the knowledge of experts to help inform you on areas you cannot research yourself, but it is vitally important that you know enough about your investments.
