Use The Weekend Wisely
Friday November 21, 2008
The weekend is an important time for a casual investor in stock markets, as it allows time to think about the next step. Especially in a week where the market has moved too quickly in a particular direction to make decisions with due thought, the weekend is an excellent time to regroup and think on your current position and how it can be improved. Keeping an eye on any stock markets that are still open can also be a good idea, as it may offer clues to how the market you have been investing in shares in will open on Monday.
Have you lost too much?
If you have avoided selling shares in haste after a bad week, as you have been unable to assess whether you need to, the weekend could be a good time to assess how well you can take the losses. If you've gone too far, you may want to plan how to go about selling your failing shares in the next week and which areas you might reinvest your money in. If you have taken bearable losses, then spend time researching the likelihood of further losses in your investments and plan the point when you have little option but to start selling your existing shares and buying shares in different fields.
